As part of my studio class, we were asked to create a new brand for the Heide Museum of Art, which is located in Melbourne, Victoria. After a site visit and discussion with the staff and curators at Heide, we began this project.
My rebranding focused on a famous sculpture at Heide that is one of the first things you see when entering the museum, made of geometric shapes in vibrant colours. I used primary colours and geometric shapes to form the Heide name, as primary colours are the basis of all other colours.
The wayfinding solution was also focussed on primary colours. The importance of wayfinding at Heide can't be understated, as it has a vast sculpture park and four main buildings that contain their artworks and education spaces. The objective was to create a clear and legible wayfinding system. This involved considering outdoor signage, indoor signage, and floor plans.
